EP. 15 Journey to Scale: It's Only Day 2, and My Client Booked Their 1st Meeting

I have a huge announcement as well for anyone looking to grow their business on social media

How can creators like us, who are new to building online businesses, who have high-value skillsets, how do we scale our monthly recurring revenue (MRR) to get us the freedom we desire? That is the question, and this newsletter will give you the answers. Be sure to subscribe if these are the type of answers you seek.

My name is Boysie Gordon, and welcome to Boysie Talks Business.

And welcome to episode 15!

In the last episode, we discussed revenue models as a method of differentiation and the various revenue models that can help you stand out.

  • A la carte (pay per item) - great if you offer things with a fast turnaround.

  • Monthly Subscription - the most common form of revenue model

  • 100% Result-based - removes risk from your customer

  • Paid-In-Full (PIF) - removes risk from your business

  • Retainer - great if you outsource work to others

  • Hybrid - gives you the best of any world

I prefer a hybrid model to ensure my offer has an edge over the standard model.

Today, I will break down my client’s journey to booking her first meeting. We literally onboarded yesterday, and already, she’s booked her first prospect meeting. Not only does this speak to my ability, but her level of commitment to the journey.

I absolutely love working with passionate people!

It is easy to get results when you know the person you are working with is already willing to do whatever it takes!

Let’s dig into this!

My Background

Most of you know that prior to doing business consulting, I was running a logistics brokerage.

But what you may not know is that I was responsible for sales training the ENTIRE time.

Even when we scaled our sales team to 5 people, I was still the main person for training (don’t recommend). Not to mention, we hired plenty of people who had never made sales before (cheaper), and I’d get them trained up and selling within the first month.

I never really thought about it until now, but that has definitely translated here.

Before Me

My client was completely fed up.

  • Reading books

  • Watching videos

  • Downloading lead magnets

Nothing she learned was helping her make progress.

She learned how to build an audience and authority but had no clue how to monetize! The only client she had was from a recommendation.

  • She wanted to earn full-time income

  • She wanted to see progress.

  • She wanted to win.

I had heard this story before… this was me.

This is why we resonated with each other from day 1!

Hello, I’m Boysie

On Day 1, I went over her business foundation and forced her to get clear.

“All of these can make you money. What do you want to do?”

She was stumped for a bit, but we kept talking it through. Once she gave me her insight, we tackled her biggest roadblock, and I gave her a plan of attack.

Immediately, she started reaching out to people and making connections!

I didn’t tell her to do any of this…

She just started testing things out on her own!

By the end of the day, she already had 3 people interested in her offer…

I was shocked!

I looked at my hand and whispered, “What have you created?”

Even when I was training employees, I never saw something like this on the first day.

But there was a blockage that I wasn’t attuned to…

The Meeting

She would get people vomiting their business pains but would hesitate to book a meeting.

The pains of an introvert.

It was now day 2, and I was unaware of this problem until I began reviewing some of her conversations.

“That's a perfect spot to suggest a meeting.”—I suggested confidently

I could hear her gasp through the computer…

Then, I walked her through an approach that I thought would be comfortable for her. We talked strategy for a couple of minutes in chat, and then she sent the message…

“What if this man ghosts me forever....”—she expressed her concern

Tension was high, and we continued to talk about the situation until…

She sent me a screenshot…

He said yes!

A mini-celebration ensued!

“I never would've gotten to this point without your help.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU BOYSIE!!!!!!!”—she thanked me

I felt like she had won a Grammy, and I was her manager!

It felt so nice to help her and see her win!

This moment confirmed it… I’m doing exactly what I should be doing right now!

This won’t be the last success story you’ll be hearing about her on any of my clients. I actually converted my first client to my new offer, so I plan to keep you all updated on their journey, too (along with mine, of course)!

Okay, so I do have an announcement!

I am currently working on a case study for my DM strategy, which landed me a client and helped her book a meeting in only two days of learning it!

I will keep you all posted on the release!

P.S.

Judging from the pace of my newest client’s growth, I should know by the end of the month if I will have slots for April! There is a waitlist for anyone interested. First come, first dibs on slots.

If you are interested, reply “scale,” and we’ll hop on a free strategy call to see if we are a good fit, then I can add you to the waitlist if you like.
